Resurrection Power

“Have you noticed in the resurrection story how everyone is moving.  The resurrection of Jesus Christ created a great flurry of activity.  For example, Mary Magdalene hears the good news that Jesus has risen and what does she do?  She runs to tell the disciples that Jesus is alive.

“We see a surprised and excited Peter and John running to the empty tomb.  Or the two disciples on the road to Emmaus.  When they see Christ, what do they do?  They run to Jerusalem telling others that Jesus is alive.  The resurrection of Jesus Christ got every body moving.

“Some people have said that the sound of Resurrection morning is like the peals of ringing bells or the sound of a rolling stone or trumpeting Easter lilies.  But I think that the sound of resurrection morning is the slap of leather sandals on dawn lit streets; because the Resurrection of Jesus Christ got everybody moving.  The resurrection was the source of tremendous enthusiasm and energy.” –Dr. Bruce Thelman

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ was victory over death!  The Apostle Paul, in view of the resurrection, writes, “O death, where is your victory?  O death, where is your sting?  The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  1 Corinthians 15:55, 56

He is Risen!
