The great English preacher D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones would say two things about the gospel of Jesus Christ.  First, we must preach the gospel to ourselves every day.  That is to say, believers must be nourished by the gospel.  The gospel is good news every day for Christians.

The gospel is our reminder.  It is our hope.  It is our inheritance.  Indeed, “For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) To believers in Rome, the Apostle Paul wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)

Each day we bask in the light of gospel-glory and gospel-power.

Second, we preach the gospel to unbelievers.  The Bible says there are not many ways to God.  There is but one way to God.  Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)  Acts 4:12 says “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Jesus Christ is that name.  To a man in desperate need, Paul said these words. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…” (Acts 16:30) Morality cannot save. Religion cannot save.  Works of righteousness cannot save.  Only faith alone in Christ alone can rescue sinners from the tyranny of sin, the terror of death and the eternal judgment of the damned.

This is the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ; for believers and unbelievers.  Click this hyperlink.  Take eight minutes to listen to one of the best gospel presentations I have ever heard.
